Earth Day at Downsview Park

Sun Apr 28, 2019, Toronto, ON

For more than 15 years, Earth Day at Downsview Park has been a go-to event for families looking to get involved in the world’s largest environmental movement. This year, the Park is excited to celebrate another Earth Day with a day-long event that promises to be bigger and better than ever!

This year, we’re offering a host of new and family-friendly activities which include: an outdoor vendors’ market, self-directed scavenger hunt, free workshops on how to make your home more ‘green,’ and much more. Best of all, every activity is FREE—we hope to see you there!

Here’s a list of some of the awesome activities you can expect at Earth Day at Downsview Park:

- Outdoor vendors’ market
- "Green”-Your-Life workshops
- Birds of prey demonstrations (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
- Seed ball making
- Nature Art station
- Face painting (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
- Sing-along by the campfire, complete with marshmallows (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
- Guided nature walk (11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

- Urban Farm Open House at Fresh City Farms
- Stewardship activities: Litter pickup, invasive species removal and more!

(NOTE: All programs run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. All times are in EST.)

We are also excited and eager to show visitors our plans for our new urban farm, which is moving to its permanent location at the south end of the Park. Come see what we have in store for our bigger and better farm!

We’d like to thank everyone who has helped to cultivate trees in our urban forest, and we look forward to celebrating Earth Day 2019 with our new programming!
