Construction Skills for Women (four weekends)

Sat Jun 8 to Mon Jul 22, 2019, Peterborough, ON

Interested in learning some bad-ass building skills? Our Construction Skills for Women workshop is your chance! This workshop involves you in all the steps of framing and finishing a small building. You’ll measure, mark, cut and assemble floors, roofs, walls, doors, windows and siding… all in a supportive atmosphere with two experienced women carpenters to lead and direct you.

Endeavour’s Construction Skills for Women workshop will give you the skills and confidence to create your own small building and tackle other building/repair projects.

You will gain experience with:

-Power tools and hand tools so you know what tools you’ll need to get the job done

-Evaluating and sourcing material for projects
-Framing for code-approved floor, wall and roof assemblies
-Cutting and assembling framing components
-Installing doors and windows
-Sheathing and siding materials

This workshop will be held over four non-consecutive weekends for a total of 8 learning days:

• June 8-9
• June 22-23
• July 6-7
• July 20-22
