Planets, Stars, Galaxies and The Universe Workshop, at the Guelph Arboretum

Mon Oct 15 to Mon Nov 19, 2018, Guelph, ON

Monday nights, Oct 15 - Nov 19

It's impossible to look at the night sky and not experience a sense of awe. Throughout this series of twelve lectures (2 per evening for 6 weeks), we’ll explore many of the wonders of the night sky. Using scaled models, digital planetarium, telescopes and our own 5 senses, we’ll examine every day phenomena, such as night and day, seasons, and the motions of the Earth, Sun, and planets. We’ll also probe the origin and fate of the stars, including our own Sun, the Milky Way, and the universe itself. On clear nights, telescopes will be available to help us obseve a few of the many interesting objects in the night sky. On cloudy nights, we'll use the planetarium to explore the night sky, trace out constellations, and travel beyond Earth to the planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe. Guest Instructor Trevor Chandler. Early Bird Fee: $125.00 if done on or before Sunday, October 7 2018. Registrations after this date will cost $140.00. Note: If we don't have enough registrations by the early bird deadline the course may be cancelled. Maximum 30 adults per session.
