Downsview Park's Jr. Forest Explorers – for ages 1.5 - 3

Join us at Downsview Park for a FREE caregiver and toddler nature program. Connect with the natural world through hands-on outdoor activities. Registration is required.

For ages 1.5-3 years old.

Participants may sign up for one session or all the sessions.

Monday July 9, 2018: Forest Explorers

Take a mini hike through Downsview Park’s forest and participate in a summer scavenger hunt.

Monday July 16, 2018: Downsview Park Wildlife

Wondering what lives in Downsview Park? Play some games, make some noise and learn about the wildlife that calls Downsview Park home.

Monday July 23, 2018: Creepy Crawlers

Look closer at the insect world. Dig in the dirt, collect worms and explore the tiny creatures all around us.

Monday July 30, 2018: Trees and flowers

Use your senses to explore the trees and flowers. Through art activities and forest exploring participants learn about all the plants growing in Downsview Park.

Monday August 13, 2018: Muddy Mayhem

Get ready to get muddy! This will involve using soil to have a mud activity. Change of clothing is highly recommended for this program.

Monday August 20, 2018: Garden Adventures

Explore Downsview Park’s education garden and explore all the food growing

Monday August 27, 2018: Campfire Stories

Join us as we make a campfire, sing some songs and roast a marshmallow in the forest

Sibling policy: This program is for children 18 months to 3 years old. Please contact us directly for specific inquiries about bringing a child outside the age range. Thank you for your cooperation.

What to bring:

Water bottle
Bug spray (recommended)

Important information:

Caregiver is required to stay for the duration of the program
Strollers are not recommended as we will be on mulch pathways. Strollers can be left in our education centre during the program.
