UBC Green Building Walking Tour and Social - EGP Event

Tue Jun 27, 2017, Vancouver, BC

EGP Event: UBC Green Building Walking Tour and Social

We are excited to invite you to the UBC campus as a Living Lab Tour And Social, organized by our Emerging Green Professionals committee.

Together we will visit some of the most innovative green buildings on UBC campus. The buildings on the tour function as living laboratories for some of UBC's researchers, allowing them to test new building approaches, systems and techniques on actual buildings. During the tour we will visit the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS), the Bioenergy Research & Demonstration Facility and the Campus Energy Center. Further we will discuss the Brock Commons Building, also known as the Tall Wood Building, based on a building model, as this building is currently under construction. The tour will cover everything from construction methods, to building materials, to the current energy usage of the visited buildings.

Following the tour we will come together for a social in Mahony and Sons Public House - UBC (5990 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z3, Canada).

Come along and meet other young professionals/students at the tour and exchange ideas and visions at the social. Please arrive by 5:45 to sign in for the tour.

• Free Tour. Please register for the tour as space is limited.
