SSS's Sustainability Speaker Series: Celebrating Municipal Sustainability with Guest Speaker Dr. Karen Farbridge

Please join Sustainable Severn Sound (SSS) at our next Sustainability Speaker Series event on Tuesday, November 29th from 2pm-5pm at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, 527 Len Self Blvd., in Midland. Mayor Gerry Marshall will be emceeing the event, and will welcome Council and staff of our 7 partner municipalities, and representatives from our supporting organizations to talk sustainability - both our successes and our opportunities. This event is FREE to attend, and local foods and refreshments will be served!

Why Should You Attend?

• Celebrate achievements by our partner municipalities which advance sustainability (Towns of Midland and Penetanguishene, Townships of Severn, Oro-Medonte, Tiny, Tay and Georgian Bay),

• Take a look at SSS's new website (developed to feature sustainable practices by each municipality, providing a platform to celebrate their successes, improve communications, and share knowledge),

• Identify opportunities for sustainability actions by municipalities, as presented by SSS in the 2016 Sustainability Report Card,

• Listen, learn from, and discuss municipal sustainability, specifically climate change, energy planning and community engagement, with SSS's guest speaker, Dr. Karen Farbridge, and

• Help to recognize our 2016 sustainability champions, as nominated by municipal representatives.
